It’s August 20th, 2023, and my visit here at UCSB will be over in 10 days time. It has been a very busy, intellectually stimulating and enjoyable time. Since the start of my Outgoing Phase March 1st, 2023, I have met great scholars and enjoyed many interesting conversations also with graduate students here at UCSB. I have coded hundreds of papers; I have planned an online study on familiarity and implemented a system to conduct this study, which has seen 200+ participants. And I have planned and conducted a real-world wayfinding study on UCSB campus – 90+ participants walked across campus wearing equipment worth more than USD 18,000 which allowed me to monitor their behavior. I am super excited to continue to analyze the plethora of data I have collected once I am back at my home university, TU Wien, again…
