Here’s a gamified way of asking people about what they know about a location:
The authors of this paper present Google StreetView images on a website. People then need to put a pin where they think this picture was taken. When they have done so, they will be awarded a score: Their score is the better the least they are off and the quicker they were. People are also shown how far they are off.
